Defender Ola Aina says Nigeria’s Super Eagles want to win the 33rd Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon, but will take it game after game.
The Super Eagles defeated one of the tournament favorites Egypt 1-0 on Tuesday, thanks to Kelechi Iheanacho’s first half strike.
The Super Eagles clearly dominated the Pharaohs for 90 minutes and should have scored more, if not poor decisions in the final third.
Speaking to the media after yesterday’s training session, the Torino defender, revealed their aim isn’t just to beat Egypt, but to win the competition for Nigeria.
“We want to go all the way, that’s our aim as a team. We want to win for our country and ourselves ,” the ex Fulham full back enthused.
“We will take it game by game. We need the same concentration and quality in the next match.
The team will face Sudan at Estádio Roumdé Adjia Stadium on Friday 15th January.
