Celtics legend Chris Sutton has warned Rangers not to resign Leon Balogun amid fans’ call for the centre-back’s return.
The Nigeria international was released by Balogun in June after his contract expired.
Rangers legend Ally McCoist led the call for Balogun’s return to Ibrox after Gers conceded two goals in their UEFA Champions League qualifying first leg against PSV Eindhoven last week.
Sutton, however, felt there was no need to bring the centre-back back to the club.

“Is this a concern for Rangers? Yes, but I think they can still go out there and get a result,” Sutton told BT Sport.
“I think Ally talked about it after the game to maybe bring Balogun back. I don’t necessarily think that’s the answer.
“If Van Bronckhorst didn’t want Balogun, you can’t blame him for not re-signing him. It’s a qualification for the Champions League, these games will never be easy.
Balogun spent two seasons with Rangers, winning the Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup titles.
