Cyriel Dessers and David Okereke led Cremonese’s attack but fired blanks as Roma went down 1-0 in Monday’s Serie A clash at Rome.
Newly promoted Cremonese have now lost their first two games in the Italian top flight.
While Dessers saw 90 minutes of action, Okereke was retired with 12 minutes left.
The former Genk striker came close three times to give Cremonese the lead but was unlucky when he missed the target.
He attempted an acrobatic effort in the 36th minute but saw his chance miss the far corner.
In the 47th minute, Dessers hit a first shot which unfortunately hit the crossbar.
And on the hour mark, he attempted another aerial kick which was not far off.
And in the 65th minute, Roma broke the deadlock as the former Manchester United defender headed for the back post from a corner.
The victory moved Roma to third place with six points after two league games played while Cremonese are 18th in the table.
