The former vice president and presidential candidate in 2023, Atiku Abubakar, met the governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike in London, United Kingdom.
The meeting, which was expected since the two failed after the PDP presidential election, was attended by four other governors.
Those who attended the meeting were Governor Ahmed Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State of Atiku, and three members of Wike, including Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State; Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State.
Although the details of the meeting are still unclear, LEADERSHIP reports that it is to seek Wike’s support for Atiku in the coming 2023 general election.
The meeting comes shortly after President Olusegun Obasanjo met Governor Wike and his party with the presidential candidate of the Labor Party, Peter Obi, and the former governor of Cross River State, Donald Duke. , in London on Thursday.
