Aribo and Onyeka in action as Brentford and Soton zoom into next round

Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo came off the bench to help Southampton to a 3-0 win over Cambridge United in the Carabao Cup second round on Tuesday.

It was Aribo’s first taste of the Carabao Cup in England.

He replaced Elyounoissi in the 66th minute and had a positive impact in the game.

Another Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka was in action as Brentford beat Colchester United 2-0.

The Nigerian international was replaced in the 53rd minute by Ghoddos after an impressive performance.

Goals from Lewis-Potter and Sorensen were enough to help the team qualify for the next round.

And at Pride Park, Semi Ajayi was an unused substitute for West Brom, who left the competition after a 1-0 defeat at Derby County.
